Being an egg donor and helping to create a happy family is truly one of the most remarkable things you can do for someone else. Our agency is here to guide you through the steps in the egg donation process and support you throughout your cycle.
If you’ve ever considered egg donation, there is no better time to apply than now! As one of our donor’s said, “Just go for it! It’s an incredible gift. Think about the families who are wanting a baby. They might be waiting for someone just like you.”
Read below for more advice from some of our egg donors.
It’s worth it. The long application, the waiting to be matched, all the doctor appointments, the “restrictions” while in the process. It’ll all be worth it once you complete the cycle and know you’ve had a helping hand in completing a family!
Be dedicated in everything – from the foods you eat to your daily routines, be 100% accommodating to the IPs schedules!
Whatever and whenever they want something done, be there! They have waited years for this moment!
Really make sure you can commit to the process and understand your commitment means everything to another family.
Once you complete the journey, you’ll feel so gratified for helping a family. It’s genuinely a great lifelong memory to have made.
Please keep an open mind and heart and always remember not everyone is blessed in the same way.
Do it. It’s the best emotional feeling you’ll ever have.
There is nothing to be scared of!
Make sure this is something you really want to do. It takes a lot of dedication and time but is so worth it!
There will be times where you feel really stressed and things don’t always go perfect, but don’t give up or feel discouraged… in the end it’s ALWAYS worth it.
Whatever your reasons for becoming an egg donor, you will find so much more fulfillment than that. EDS makes you feel like you’re a part of a family that is working together to create families. It’s one of the proudest things I have ever been able to do!
I would tell them that it is a great thing to do. Remember the process takes time and, in the end, you will accomplish what many have not.
Being an egg donor is one of the most honorable things I have ever done. I will more than likely donate until I cannot donate any longer. It brings me so much joy knowing I helped a family create a baby of their own. One thing that I tell my friends who consider being an egg donor is that if you have any doubt that you won’t be able to separate yourself emotionally from the intended parents’ child then do not sign up. Biologically you will have a child out there with a fully supportive and loving family. You have to be fully aware and accept that you may or may not ever know or see this child. It was easy for me because I put myself in the intended parents’ shoes, and I know I would be so extremely grateful for an egg donor to not only give us this tremendous gift but to respect the boundaries that come with it. It takes a lot of strength.
